- People don’t understand how to lose weight properly and keep it off – This is why, even if people lose weight, they are extremely likely to gain it back
- People have busier lifestyles than ever – You may be a busy professional or business owner which means you have little time to look after yourself properly. So your weight and health suffers and this will only get worse
- People have high levels of stress – If your work or business means you are regularly feeling stressed, you will have lower physical and mental energy and so you are less likely to exercise and eat healthy. Stress also affects how your body functions which affects your weight
- People are bombarded with poor information – Most of the information you read or watch, whether online, on TV, or in magazines, is completely unhelpful for weight loss. For example, weight loss jabs/shots, diets, or doing exercise you don’t enjoy, will “never” work for long term and healthy weight loss
- People have the wrong mental approach for losing weight – If your mental approach isn’t good enough, then it’s guaranteed you will always struggle with your weight. With the thousands of people I’ve helped, I can assure you of this
The good news is that it’s highly likely that YOU have the capability to lose weight and keep it off. You just don’t know how to do it yet.
The bad news is that most people will never find out. Will you find out how to lose weight properly and in a healthy way, or will you allow yourself to keep suffering?
The truth about your chances of weight loss success
Using the figures from a study in 2015 titled “Probability of an Obese Person Attaining Normal Body Weight”, I calculated that only 2.0% of people are successful at losing weight and keeping it off over 5 years.
The study is from the Clinical Practice Research Datalink in the UK which analysed the health records of 278,982 people.
This indicates that almost all people (98%) will struggle with their weight for the rest of their life, until the very day they die. This could easily be you.
Being overweight means that…
- You are struggling with your physical health – You will have much lower energy than what you could have. You also have a proven higher risk of health problems, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, arthritis, stroke, heart attack, and cancers (including breast, prostate, and colon cancer)
- You are struggling with your mental health – You will have less confidence and a poorer self-image because you feel worse about yourself and your body due to your weight. This means you feel more anxious and stressed, and you have a proven higher risk of developing depression
These things affect all areas of your life. If you are feeling worse every day than you could be feeling, then you suffer, your works suffers, and your relationships suffer. Even if you are feeling fairly happy in general, you are still suffering and are at a lower level than what you could be.
Then after feeling worse every single day of your life, you will die younger than what you should have due to your weight and having a less healthy body – This means missing out on more time to live life or be with the people you love.
Despite all these drawbacks of being overweight, most people still continue to let themselves suffer. They live a life that is duller and less fulfilling than what they could have. Yet at the same time, they could be feeling so much better and live a healthier life where they feel happier about themselves.
Which will you choose? To accept your weight and all the negatives that drag you and your life down? Or to commit to learning how to lose weight properly and feel the fantastic benefits that await you?
You do not need Motivation – You need Commitment
If after reading this so far, you are thinking – “Thank you for the kick up the bum James. I need to do more, so I’ll join a gym, or do this exercise, or change this with my eating” – Then you are missing a very important point.

My first career was in engineering which was highly technical and scientific. I completed an apprenticeship, a Degree where I achieved a First and received two awards for the best student at the University, and a Postgraduate Diploma in management with Distinction grade. I worked for small and international companies.
My second and current career is where I run my own business helping people as their Personal Coach. I help people to lose weight successfully, improve their health and fitness, and feel physically and mentally much better in their life.

The key to your successful weight loss
The key to you successfully losing weight and keeping it off is developing the right routines and habits based around exercise and healthy eating. These routines and habits need to be sustainable and enjoyable, so that you can easily keep them up.
To be able to do this, you also need to have the right strategies and mental approach. This is extremely important!
